About Us
The AAC (Allergy Awareness Club) seeks to create a more positive and inclusive environment for all those on campus with food allergy restrictions. In addition to creating more inclusive food policies and encouraging the creation of allergen free food options on campus we also seek to increase education on allergy related issues. Finally, we also seek to support both our local and national community through fundraising and volunteer opportunities that members can participate in. Take a look around our website for upcoming events and opportunities, interesting blog posts, chat forums, and contact information as well as member sign up which can be found in the top right corner of the home page!
Our Team

Sydney Nairn
-President-
Hi, I’m Sydney! I am a second year Psychology student with the Faculty of Arts, and the president of the AAC.
As someone with severe allergies, I am well versed in the frustrations associated with lack of accommodations for people with food allergies. Along with our great team, I hope to promote better understanding and more safe options for students on campus, as well as the wider community.

Nadine Rodrigues
-VP Finance-
Hey, I'm Nadine Rodrigues, VP of Finance! I'm a second year Exercise and Health Physiology major, working towards a BSc in Kinesiology.

I don't have any allergies myself, but my brother and my friends do, so I know how hard it can be to manage an allergy, especially when companies and programs tend to be inconsiderate of people affected by them.
Hopefully with AAC around, we can begin to create a more inclusive and allergy aware environment at the University of Calgary.

Egi Vasil
-VP Marketing-
Hi I'm Egi, I'm in my second year and I'm working towards a BSc in Kinesiology with a major in Mind Sciences!

I'm super excited to work towards raising awareness for and providing better resources for those with allergies on campus.

As VP Marketing I'm in charge of all our social media and this website, if you have any questions for me you can email me directly at aacmarketingdep@gmail.com or become a member and make a post on our forum!

Jerry Wang
-VP Events-
Hi, I’m Jerry Wang, VP Events. I’m a second year student working towards a BSc in Biomedical Engineering.
I’m proud to be a part of a club which raises awareness and works to provide better resources about something not often in the greater public conscience, but is at the forefront of those who live with it. I hope that the AAC will make campus a safer space for all with allergies.
As VP Events, I will hopefully be at all our events, so come by and say hi.

Claire McPherson
-VP Communications-
Hi I’m Claire, the VP Communications, and I am currently a second year student taking a BSc in Psychology.
As someone with food allergies myself, I am excited to raise awareness and help create a safer and more inclusive campus.
With the AAC I hope to make a real impact helping others!
